Valtellina Superiore Maroggia DOCG Riserva

Typology: red wine.

Our Riserva is made in certain exceptional years, when we cherry-pick a selection of the finest nebbiolo grapes from the vineyards that lie directly below Maroggia, where there is the most suitable soil. A selection of the grapes are left to dry naturally for a brief period, before a long period of maceration of the skins. They're briefly aged in stainless steel casks before spending 24 months in oak barrels. This wine pairs superbly with red meats, wild game and matured cheese.

Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification: traditional submerged-cap vinification with maceration of the grape skins at a controlled temperature.

Aging: 18-month aging period in oak barrels followed by aging in bottles.

Alcohol content: 13,5% vol.

Serving temperature: 18°C - 20°C

Food pairing: A superb accompaniment to dishes featuring red meats, game and matured cheeses.
